In marketing forums I often see advice given specially to the newbies, to stay away from Adsense . The main argument offered- it’s not worth the time and effort to earn $5/day

I don’t know about you but having several sites that brings in $100 -$150 a month in semi-passive income is good enough for me.

As I’ve explained in the last month’s BIM Report, it’s depends on your perspective and long term goals.

If you are looking for a long term gain, nothing can be better than having a portfolio of related sites bringing you a semi-passive income every month, while at the same time you are building assets that can be later sold off for a nice chunk (think high 5 figure, six figure income) at website marketplace.

Here are the key steps to develop VRE with Adsense sites.

1) Don’t build a huge site with hundreds of pages. Instead create tightly niched 10-15 page sites related to each other.

2) Avoid using automated content generators. I make simple handmade html sites. And that’s what I’m doing for my clients for “90 Days VRE Challenge” too.

3) Use unique content. It’s a key issue. Not only will you get SE love, but unique content helps in selling off the sites for high profit.

4) Use a keyword rich domain name instead of branding style domains.

5) Go for low hanging fruits (the long tailed keywords) to get traffic to your site.

6) Once you have the site built and running concentrate on getting as many quality backlinks as you can. This ensures that you continue to earn money from the site even if you do not actively promote it after a few months.

Sticking to the simple rules above, I’ve yet to have an Adsense site that failed to make profit. And I’m doing the same thing for my clients’ of VRE Challenge too.

It’s the ‘Educational Toys’ market I’m talking about.

There’s huge demand for all types of educational toys that help parents teach their children all sorts of skills, including math, reading, spelling, science, grammar, and the list goes on and on.

You may be familiar with the “Baby Einstein” videos that are very popular, or the “Leapfrog” series of educational toys. But there are countless options available to those looking for these types of toys.

Let’s take a look at some of the related terms that come up when we do a search for “educational toys”

Educational toys
Educational games
Children’s educational toys
Kid’s educational toys
Baby educational toys
Toddler’s educational toys
Games
Puzzles
… and so on.

I recommend that you create a site that focuses on educational toys, and then you can create sub sites about different segments of this niche, such as toys for babies, one for toddler educational toys, another site on puzzles, one for educational games, and so
on.

Ad costs at Google run in the $1-2 range for educational toy terms, so you should be placing AdSense or YPN ads on your sites for decent commissions from people clicking on your ads.

There are also several affiliate programs available that allow you to earn commissions from the sale of all kinds of educational toys, games, puzzles, and so on, so you should be researching the best programs and advertising them on your sites.

If you do some digging around, you should be able to find some niche toy stores that have their own affiliate programs in addition to the larger, well known stores.

Your sites should also include articles that are available from article directories or that you have written that discuss all types of educational tips for parents. You could have articles written that focus on a specific skill, and then have that article promote a toy that will help them develop that skill.

Obviously, people looking for educational toys for their kids are interested in one thing, for sure, and that’s providing the best education possible for their kids from a very early age.  Because of this, why not also consider promoting various info products like books, audios, and videos on your sites that give tips on parenting, children’s education, and so on?

There are all types of parenting related sites that you may also want to seek out in order to get them to link to your web sites.

If you have content rich sites set up that deal with educational toys, games, parenting tips, and so on, there are thousands of related web sites out there whose owners would love to know about your sites.

Something else to consider…

Babies become toddlers, toddlers become big kids, big kids become what? Adolescents… who become teens, and then adults.

You can create sites that support these kids all the way through life by expanding your empire to include not only sites about educational toys, but also learning disabilities like autism and attention deficit disorder, or how to get better grades in school, college prep information, teen suicide, or anything else you can think of.

You can literally create a seven figure   per year  business by starting with a site on educational toys, and simply expanding it out as your profits grow.
