Here’s another business idea from my idea diary and I think it has a lot of potential.
Just about everyone has a favorite hobby right? And I’m sure a lot of hobbyist will love to make money from what they are already passionate about.
Hobby + Money = too good a combination that most people would not be able to resist.
For example- Don’t you think a Golf Lover would be delighted if he can find a way to make money from his love and knowledge of Golf?
Similarly, some one who just loves to Knit inventing new patterns, would be overboard if she can make money from what she already loves doing.
The best thing is those who are serious fans about a topic they already possess great deal of knowledge and often personal experience about the topic. And with this passion and knowledge about their topic, they can make a lot of money on the Net just sharing it with other info seekers in their niche.
However the problem is….they absolutely have no idea that it is possible to make money like this on the Net.
And here ,I feel, is a huge gap in the market that a savvy marketer can make a fortune from.
Obviously as a marketer he will not be knowledgeable about the topic, but he can get topic experts from the hobby forums. Once he collects the raw data and info the niche is interested about, he can hire a ghostwriter and pass on the info to give it a shape and form of a professional report .
For example - One such report can be how to make cash selling website bookmarks. I’ve written an article about it back in July. It is one common theme that can be a good info product for almost any hobby niche.
Depending on the hobby, other report themes could be how to make money by selling information on supplies, equipment availabilities etc. For example –if the target is those who love fly fishing – a series of special report on how to choose the best fly fishing equipments and gears should be good one as they are quite expensive.
Other info products could be how a hobbyist can make money by sharing his knowledge through video lessons, tip and tricks etc.
One common content of each report would be – how to setup a website, lead capture page, how to accept paypal payments, how to digitally deliver the info products etc. - the basic things we marketers are doing every day. Remember, these are totally new info to the hobbyist.
In other words your info product should ” share ideas how they can make money from their hobby” at the same time provide them the “how to”s.
Well this is what you would teach people in a membership site or better still….create a membership site where you create products geared to the hobbyists as discussed above. But provide PLR Rights to the reports, video lessons, templates etc.
This way your direct target audience becomes the marketers who can take advantage of the huge gap in the market, across several hobby niche. This would be good money spinner for the savvy marketers.
The best way to go about this, as I said before, is to collect data and info from expert on the topic through the hobby forums. You can also hire a researcher to do it. Once you get the framework give it to a professional ghostwriter to create a complete product out of it or, a video creator to make nice video presentation out of the framework.
You could do this with just about every hobby known to man, or stick to 3-4 popular hobbies and in 1 or 2 years have one of the largest paid content sites on the Internet.
You could easily charge anywhere from $47-$67 a month for this specialized information. Get only 100 subscribers and you would be earning more than $80,000 a year!
