Steal this Power Writing Formula For Your Blog Posts, Ezines Articles or Special Reports

One of the most important factors to consider when you write is how to organize your ideas clearly. This Power Writing formula can be applied to organize the ideas and write almost anything right from simple blog post, to more complicated feature articles or even creating special reports or ebooks for your niche.

Before I tell you about it, I want to make a confession. I am not a writer by any means; neither English is my first language. On the contrary, you can label me as a voracious reader and idea hunter who likes to share what she learns and her somewhat ‘occasionally hyperactive brain cells contrives :-)

And since the web is mostly about ‘words’ and ‘writing’, there is no other option for a ‘non-writer’ like me to adopt certain writing strategies and formulas to express and share my sporadic brainwaves! The formula I’m about to share with you now, is one of them.

Formula to construct a basic three-sentence paragraph for your article

Power Formula 1-2-2 paragraph
Example: While researching for a product idea you should consider two important criteria. First, it should provide a solution for a problem. Second, there should be enough people looking for the solution.
Explanation Each sentence in the paragraph above has a power or a number.Power 1: main idea (While researching for a product idea you should consider two important criteria.)

Power 2: major detail that supports the main idea. (First, it should provide a solution for a problem. Second, there should be enough people looking for the solution.)

I often use this method for writing paragraphs to explain something. And at times I combine both Power 2 sentences in one complex sentence. If you re-read paragraph 1 and 2 of this article you will find I have just used this method!

Formula to write a more complex seven-sentence paragraph

Power Formula: 1-2-3-2-3-2-3 Paragraph
Example
Follow three rules of reading for better learning. First, keep your mind on what you read. When you do this, you improve concentration. Second, know why you read. When you have this in your mind, you have a purpose for reading. Finally, know the meaning and pronunciation of every word. When you expand your vocabulary, you aid comprehension.
Explanation: As with a 1-2-2 Power Paragraph, each sentence has a power/number.Power 1: main idea (Follow three rules of reading for better learning)

Power 2: major detail that supports the main idea (First, keep your mind on what you read. Second, know why you read. Finally, know the meaning and pronunciation of every word.)

Power 3: minor detail that proves or supports the major details (When you do this, you improve concentration. When you have this in your mind, you have a purpose for reading. When you expand your vocabulary, you aid comprehension.)

That’s the basic structure of this Power writing formula to compose tightly woven paragraphs to explain an idea or a topic. A Power 1 sentence introduces the main idea, or concept. It sets the tone of the paragraph. A Power 2 sentence includes a major detail that supports the main idea. You can use single words like - another, also, first, second, besides, to begin with, moreover, furthermore, and words repeated from 1st Power sentence to start Power 2 sentences. Use words like -specifically, for example, in other words, most, some, a few, restated, to explain, for instance, to describe, translated, and words repeated from 2nd Power sentence.

Did you notice the above paragraph?
It’s written using the 1-2-3-2-3-2-3 Paragraph writing formula. Read it once again, if you missed it!

I use this method or use its variations to write articles about topics I don’t have much knowledge but have done enough research to write about. And this can be expanded indefinitely to construct entire article for a topic.

I’ll share it with you in one of the upcoming posts. Meanwhile, if you liked this article, please share ,bookmark, digg or stumble this post using the ‘Share this’ link below!
